Whatever your aim in life, the more clear you are about it, and the reason(S) why you want to achieve it, have a huge bearing on how you fare on your journey.
And that's what it is, isn't it? A journey.
And a clear destination is what gives meaning and direction to any voyage. So start here, and keep your mind on the aim, the goal, the destination... Good luck and work well.

And a clear destination is what gives meaning and direction to any voyage. So start here, and keep your mind on the aim, the goal, the destination... Good luck and work well.
Whatever your aspiration in life may be,
you need to be fit for purpose.
If running a successful business, or household, or managing what you do with your life, you need to have the physical energy, the mental adaptation, and the emotional stability, to get it started, do it with a will, and see it through.
This is where you make one of the most important decisions for your program and yourself; you ask yourself what you want from your course and your life.
This program is about you, your life, and how you want to live it.
Physical Health, mental health and energy are your primary assets, no matter who you are.
Whatever aspirations you have, you need a fit state of mind to have a clear vision, a clear state of mind to apply yourself, and a sound physical health see you through the times and events when you're challenged.
That's what this program is about; preparing your mind, body and spirit for the journey.
For any journey, we need a destination.
This may seem obvious, but you'd be amazed at the number of people who embark on a course without consideration for what they want it to do for them.
And that's your first practical step; knowing where you're going.
Let This Be Your Signpost.
What's your goal? Whatever it is, write it down.
Now.
In my experience, over fifty years, it is the people who write their aims down that get best results.
So strong is this belief, that when I ran the Personal Training Studio for thirty five years, that no-one was permitted to start a program without writing what they wanted to achieve.
It's a simple thing to do, but when you come to do it, you articulate what you want from the course, and from yourself, the mind sharpens, the picture clears, and the road to your destination becomes plain to see.
You don't have to write reams. It can be anything from a single word, to a particular phrase, to a five hundred word essay.
But write it down.
Connect with it.
Give it the quality of importance it merits. And then honour it.
This is your personal commitment, to you.
Your Own Aim.
Your written goal is not for your friend, your spouse, your mom, or your dad.
It's for you.
This is your goal, what you want for yourself in your life.
Do not, do not, underestimate the value of this exercise.
This is what gives meaning, direction, purpose to your course.
It's why you're doing it.
The reason why is the motivation for your time and effort. It gives power to your action.
It gives you the emotional and mental stamina that gets you through the rugged bits.
And it reinforces your resolve to achieve what you set out to do.
How to write your own goals.
This program is relevant to every part of your life.
Whether you want to run a business, study a language, run the household, improve your sporting performance, it's your physical, mental, and emotional state that will determine how well you do it.
So, if running your business is why you want to be fit, healthy and well, then that's one of your goals for this course.
If wearing a nifty piece of clothing is important in your life, that's a goal too.
Whatever your goal in life is, or however many you have, being in good shape and feeling right about it, and thinking clearly, all improve your chances of success.
This program is therefore a life strategy, a business strategy, a personal strategy.
Why write it down?
When you write it, you connect with your senses. You see the words. You hear the tone in which you speak it. You hold the pen and create the vision for the life to which you aspire.
Whatever your aim, it takes courage, determination, and personal belief to see it through. Many have achieved things in their lives by taking the decision, doing it with a will, and seeing it through to the end.
That there were obstacles, discouragements, wrong turnings here and there, were what gave the achievement the piquancy that made it worth while.
What was also significant was the changes that took place within the person's character along the way.
You'll discover strengths, qualities, insights, you'd forgotten about, or never realized you had. You'll bring them to other aspects of your life.
You will enrich your own life and the lives of those around you.
Who do you tell...?
Too many accept the limitations that can be imposed by others on their ambitions.
So, choose mindfully whom you want to tell about your aims.
Negative influence can come from the most unlikely of sources.
Those who are near you may feel uncomfortable when you begin to change to the person you want to be.
They won't understand what you're doing, and all they will see is that you're somehow different, not the predictable individual they thought you were, and that you may be asserting yourself and your thoughts in a way with which they're not familiar.
This can get misinterpreted. People may not understand your new views, your self-assertion. How you become more decisive frequently gets confused with indifference, or lack of consideration, or even arrogance.
As you become more decisive about your goals, your life, where you want to go, you'll have less time for other pursuits. You will, rightly, come to see certain activities as a waste of precious time that could otherwise be invested in your priorities.
That's when you know you're doing the right thing.
It may not be popular.
But popularity is not the test of merit.
So, now, if you haven’t done so already, take the time to write what you want as an outcome from the program. Write how you want the program will help you in your life; what it’ll do for you, how you’ll feel about your life and yourself as you plan, act, develop and grow into the thoughts, ideas and aspirations that inspire you.
Do this now.
