Life is a series of decisions isn’t it?
What we decided yesterday effects today. What we decide today affects tomorrow, and all the following tomorrows.
Back in the 1950s, as a boy, I spent many hours and days on the open sea with a man who told me stuff that I didn’t appreciate till many years later.
At the end of every day’s fishing, sailing, rowing, and hauling lobster pots, when I’d be climbing off the boat either onto a rope ladder, or an iron one fixed on the side of the pier in Kilmore Quay, this man would say to me, “What ever you do in Life, boy, take a firm decision, do it with a will, and see it through.”
I never realised then what he was teaching me. What a priceless principle: “Take a decision, do it with a will, and see it through.”
You could do worse than decide to apply that for the coming week.
