Making The Best Day…
Either we programme ourselves into our own lives, or others, circumstances, and outside events, do it for us. And that’s why we need to look now and again where we’re headed, what’s happening, and what the looming destination is.
That’s what Mindful Awareness is. It’s not about sitting dreamily in a corner, pretending the world doesn’t exist, and just escaping for a few minutes. Though that can be a good thing at the right time, too.
But this is a positive, definite, precise exercise of the mind.
Here’s a suggestion; many have tried it, some reluctantly, others with a bit of will.
Any one who has given it half a decent shot, has said it’s done them good; again, some a lot of good, others a bit of good.
Start Your Day Well.
Every morning, Sunday or Monday, get out of bed at a reasonable hour, work it to your own life and time table. After your ablutions, shower etc., stretch slowly, and well. Do this for about three minutes. Then open your lungs, and using your stomach muscles and diaphragm, breathe slowly, deeply, steadily. Two breaths will do for a start. Then stop. Then do two more. Then do two more.
Then think about your head and what’s going on in it. Decide(ring a bell?) to direct your own mind where you want it to go for the day.
Your day.
Put it into words and make a clear, unequivocal declaration.
Follow through, act on it
