For some reason, the awareness of the necessity to persist has come to the fore recently. I’ve had about seven emails over the past few days asking me to repeat the email of a couple of years ago on ‘persistence’.
The email was based on a quote by Calvin Coolidge, who was President of the United States in the 1920s.
I can very well understand the desire to reread his inspiring quote, but I’m wondering what instigated this awareness of it, at this time, that compelled people to ask about it.
Is there something in the news that I’ve missed?
Have you noticed anything that might trigger this?
Here’s the quote.
Read it and enjoy it and think about it.
'Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.'
